“The notion of “social acupuncture” refers to the catalytic transformative effect that well-targeted, small-scale, creatively designed interventions can have even in large and complex systems. Metaphorically speaking, placing the needle of transformative change in the right place and on the right meridian of cultural meaning-making, can unblock pent-up energy and catalyse transformative cultural and social change”.

Through Transcultural Education, Social Innovation and Regenerative Economics & Enterprise
iSRA aims to bring together a fraternity (Learning Community) of trans-cultural educators, social innovators, economic regenerators, and integral thinkers from many countries working on regenerative research and educational projects. These projects share a desire to challenge the dominant educational systems as well as economic practices, that are often underpinned by individualistic, competition-driven, economic considerations. Recurrently, regenerative projects as they emerge, often work in silos, producing amazing new ways of thinking and acting but not known beyond a small group of enthusiasts, which is why very rarely are these approaches transferred into new educational or research methodologies or succeed to provide an alternative to existing, all too often standardised, practices.
